Slide tiles through the empty space to order 1–15 while planning moves and tracking patterns and positions.
Learning goal
Practise visual position tracking, planning several moves ahead, reordering pieces in small steps, and reviewing a strategy.
How to play
- Choose Start Game. The goal is to arrange tiles 1 through 15 from left to right and top to bottom.
- Tap or click a tile next to the empty square to slide it into the open space.
- If you get stuck, Solve Step shows one next move; then continue planning the remaining route yourself.
- With a keyboard, Tab to the game board and use the arrow keys to slide tiles. A starts a new game, S shows one solution step, X pauses, and ? opens shortcut help.
Note for parents and teachers
Instead of naming the first move, ask, “Which tile should move first to bring the empty space closer to the number you need?” Moves and time describe only this play session and should not be used to compare children.
