Learning goal

Practise sequencing, direction tracking, repetition, conditional decisions, and improving a program through testing.

How to play

1. Choose the unlocked Level 1, read the short objective card, and enter the play area.
2. Use the forward, turn left, turn right, and pick controls in the top row to build a program in the bottom row.
3. Choose Run. If the robot does not reach the goal, revise the command order and try again.
4. Tap controls on a touchscreen. With a keyboard, use Tab to move between controls and Enter or Space to activate a level, command, or Run. Use Delete to remove a program command.

Note for parents and teachers

Let the child build the first route. Ask, “Which way is the robot facing now?” and “What small job must happen before it reaches the goal?” to help them explain the plan aloud.
