Open-source game detail
Star Battle
Place the right number of stars in every row, column, and region without letting any stars touch.
Learning goal
Practise eliminating possibilities and making deductions while tracking row, column, and region constraints together.
How to play
- Start with a 4 × 4 board and 1 star, then choose New Puzzle.
- Select a cell once for a star, twice for a cross, and a third time to clear it.
- Place the stated number of stars in every row, column, and bold region. Stars cannot touch, even diagonally.
- Use Check to test the rules. Use Answer only after discussing the puzzle together.
Note for parents and teachers
Do not choose cells for the child. Ask one-constraint questions such as, “If a star goes here, which row or region becomes full?”
